Health and Wellness Class

Our health teachers have been and continue to work on building a comprehensive Health and Wellness curriculum that incorporates the three major elements of healthy living: mental health, physical health, and social health. I want to correct any misconceptions that O’Maley no longer has physical education. We have actually incorporated the Massachusetts Frameworks for Physical Education into our Health and Wellness course. In addition to learning and discussing the three parts of health, our students will also be actively working on physical fitness and movement activities that will build the habits and decision-making that lead to healthy lifestyles. The specialist classes include Health & Wellness, Performing Arts, and Art, with each class lasting for a twelve-week term with students attending the class for eighty minutes each day. We continue to strive for our students to be as healthy as they can be socially, mentally, and physically.
